I have a copy of Cadroe Murphy's BezierGen 1.1 that I acquired a long time ago. I know I got it to work at one time just playing around, but now I have a real need for it and I can't seem to make it work anymore. Could something have changed in SL to keep it from receiving commands on channel 9 as instructed? Or is SL just being contrary?

Is there a more recent gadget that does the same thing - that is rezzes prims on a horizontal bezier curve - not circular?

This and ShapeGen are great tools by the way. I'm just a bit frantic as I have a sort of deadline. I really need to get on with it today. If worse comes to worse, I'll eyeball it.

I just went inworld and tried it - first it did nothing, then I reset and it said it was doing it but nothing appeared, then I replaced the block in contents and it did work.

I've run into a few things lately that seem to've fallen off the server - this seems to be the case, perhaps, here.

IM me if you want me to send you the one which is working for me.

I think I've got it semi-working by replacing the block. Enough to limp along and improvise. Thanks.

I am using SL as a quick and dirty 3d rendering tool to make scale models for RL illustrations. I did get BezierGen working and it does some rather cool things to this end:

Thanks for the suggestions!

while scripted objects are ok. sadly i find that if a builder has to rely on another persons program to get something they could easily do by eye seems to be a bit embarrassing. no offense. I do have a thing called PolyRez and its a really fun toy. but to me thats all it is. a toy.

So you have actually made a 100 meter dome out of max 10 meter pieces by hand and made it look smooth? Cadroe Murphy was simply brilliant and has a handful of programs that are not just helpful, they do what would be extremely difficult by hand. The majority of his programs are also free.

A geodesic dome would be another fun one to do by hand. Hope you have your calculator handy, have brushed up on your trig and have a LOT of time.

Take a look at the pic on Cadroe's Lathe page:

and tell me how to do that by hand with small prims. Now of course we would just use a mega prim and Sculpty but for most of the time in SL this was not possible and Cadroe made the impossible, possible.

Weston, who makes that jelly dog avatar? It's very nice.
