Hello everyone. I was considering making a pirate themed commuity (i.e. British colonies in South America vs. Carribean sea thugs :D ). We would have a dock and a small town near it. Also, playing off the Kaznojin idea (i.e. copying, sorry guys :D ) we could have boats which a group of people could build and script, and have crews with a captain and all that. Just a thought.

Darwin, how broad a theme would you be open to?

As a member of Kazenojin I have been thinking a lot about expanding on some of the original ideas, except more along the lines of clipper ships, and Victorian-era Steampunk type craft. (The station we have ended up devoted to spacecraft and apocalyptic cyberpunk themes) and it might be a good match to expand into a separate, more historic-era type sim, with a seaside village, and yes pirate ships! This would be the place to hold our armada ship to ship battles too!

Anyway, what do you think? And I suggest coming by the Kazenojin meeting tomorrow at 5, with your ideas.

any room for air-pirates in this theme? i'm planning an airship based on a cross between turn of the century racing yachts and 30's seaplanes. with lots of guns and Jolly Rogerses. :)

So only English Caribbean non-flying pirates then who have utterly helpless villagers to prey on in a time frame from 1750 to 1800?

>-P to you too.

Seriously though if you're looking for people to move in and work on village buildings or ships, I'm game. I need a good place to live.

"I WILL round this Cape even if I have to keep sailing until doomsday!"

So, even today whenever a storm brews off Buck's Mountain, if you look into the eye of the storm, you will be able to see the ship and it's captain - The Flying Dutchman. Don't look too carefully, for the old folk claim that whoever sights the ship will die a terrible death.

"A strange red light as of a phantom ship all aglow, in the midst of which light the mast, spars and sails of a brig 200 yards distant stood out in strong relief."

(excerpt/edited from: http://ms.essortment.com/dutchmanflying_rrqy.htm)

Ye pirateers be warned!

And then there is the loyal yet merciless Peter Stuyvesant, who east pirates for breakfast. At least he did before settling down at his "Bouwerie" (Bowery, Harlem NY, or was that Kissling?)

Reminds me a lot of Crimson Skies, the old FASA rpg/board game and now a Microsoft PC/Xbox game.

Sounds cool.

Sure, I'll help. (as I'm already sporting the 'ol Jolly Roger most of the time now, it's no big change).

Building a coastal town sounds interesting, but we'll have to keep it small unless somebody's got big pockets. ;)

Another idea is to work out a deal with the other Kazenojin for the north-west corner of their sim until a different one can be found. Of course Perry is pretty empty these days. ;) If we really want to plunder. Failing that we just need to find a Northwest passage to the hidden Island Giveaway land! It's real I tell ya, not just some folk tale.
