I am trying something a bit different in Cowell these days. I am building low cost homes for the homeless, broke or just social players. I am finding more and more these days; that ppl can't find or afford land. Or they don’t want to own land they want a place to call home but don’t want to build. They are social players for the most part. I just started construction, on this project day before yesterday. I have one home completed except for the textures to finish. It is an example of one of the houses that will be available. The rent is min. so social players or those with very little experience can have a place to call home. This idea is in its early stages only time will tell if it is a real alternative. I hope to help new players get on their feet. Some will go onto buying land as it become available others may decide they like the area. The other main thing that is now becoming a problem with new ppl is the land that they can afford has a low prim (object) count. The houses I am building are under 50 prims. Low prims, with heavy textures. They will be available for purchase. Depending on the amount of work/style/and size of the homes the prices also range. All houses are linked except for the doors. I hope this project will alleviate some of the hardships I have been hearing about in the forums and in world. Catherine

Great work Catherine! I had actually thought of doing something like this myself. I'm not a great builder by any means, but I do like to try and it helps me get better to practice. If I make a couple of homes like this (over the next month), would you allow me to donate them to you for this cause? And cheers again for your contributions to SL Catherine!

Wonderful idea Cat! Any newbie I see that wants a home, I will send you way. Talk to Siggy Romulus -- he also has low-cost homes for sale at "Crazy Siggy's $1 Emporium" -- maybe you two could swap landmarks.

Catherine Catherine are you still doing this? It is a great idea and I think you have alot more to offer new players to our world than any commercial interest because your heart is vested in our SLworld. I really hope you don't sell your land and leave We don't have to talk alot inworld for me to admire you for what you have given us here. So please remember that there are many of here who don't post in the forums who love what you have done in SL and don't want to see your contributions end. ...Oh... and where is my Briana Dollie? Please stay Catherine! Briana Dawson

Briana is right. If you leave, the voice of the artist is quieted and what you may be upset about becomes a greater influence without you there. Stay positive and keep plugging away at your creative outlet and you may not even be bothered by some changes in our midst.

Started building houses but much happened in the process and to say the least I got a little ticked off. Tried building a couple of homes and found that I could not build as many as I would of liked without cramming them all together. So what to do, what to do. How to help the newbies. Well my doors are open me casa sue casa. I am working on some events that I hope will help newbies and us artistic folks a bit I am hoping that ppl will see my place as an artistic learning experience someday soon Now for my own Toyz ! Well now ok ok I will work on the dollie this week. I have 2 to work on so its slower than normal. I will post when they are done Thank you guys for all the support here! I hear you ppl in world too very much appreciated Tis a kind thing you have done for it I am eternaly greatful Hugz your nutty Eflin Cat
