Blender Woes

I've been experimenting with different prims on Blender. Problem is, is that I want to create a boot..one sculpty part, to cover the foot. I'll go to Add > Mesh > Sculpty Mesh, and choose like..a sphere...but I'm a bit confused as to how to shape it effectively to where it resembles the lower half of a shoe.

In addition, I am having a difficult time uploading to Blender the avatar files. I saw a great tutorial for using them, but to open them..they have to be a .blend file. I'm already making clothes, but I would like to use the avatar files on Blender..and see if there's a difference in the creating aspects.

I have the SL sculpty add-ins that allow me to upload into SL my sculpties. I'm also wanting to make tree limbs, but alas, I am having problems there as well. I use the Bezien (?) curve to make them, but I don't know how to upload them to SL. Of course, they are .blend files after I save them..but how do I upload them to SL?

I've looked over the tutorials, but I am still unclear how to upload to SL tree limbs..or hell, an entire tree, if that is possible :)

Any help, would be appreciated!!

Get the avatar files into Blender by Importing the .obj. (File > Import menu.)
I start with cylinders mostly. Or planes.
You "Bake" your sculpties to the sculpt map using many ways but Doms scripts are eaisest.
Dunno what SL sculpty addins are but you save the map and upload that to SL. You can import maps too. Blender does it all very simply once you know the basics.
See Gaia's tuts for most of the info in video.

It's Domino's SL sculpty stuff for Blender that are the add-ins.

Thanks for the .obj files Import information! :)
