Dear Experts, I'm not an expert in building terra files. But now hit's me a issue where I did not found a simple solution, but hope there is one available.
I have a raw file set, where I would like to rotate it once 90 and 180 degree. What is the easiest way to do this, without learning all the details of building terra files ?
Any help or tips are welcome
Regards
Bud

Open it in Photoshop or soms similar app, and rotate the channel that has the heightmap in it. For most .raw files, that is the only channel that has any data that affects the terrain.
You'll probably have to copy the channel to a regular layer to rotate, it, then paste it back in to the channel and delete the layer.
Some of the terraforming apps, like Bulldozer for the Mac platform, have a very simple command for rotating the .raw file and saving it as a rotated copy. If you are on Mac, Bulldozer is free, and very easy to use for that purpose. It also lets you get a pretty good locally-genrated preview of what a .raw file will look like in-world.

if all you made was the height map then you can just rotate it with MS Paint.
as for the creation i would use balliwick as a beginners tool to convert your map to a .raw
a little note for you. take into consideration that when you upload a .raw to sl it is horizontally flipped on the x axis so make sure your rotations will counter this. best option is to download OpenSim and preview your raws using the server program so you can host your own sim and see what you make.

What? I have made a lot of .raw files, and have NEVER seen one flipped on any axis from what I designed it as. They always load exactly as I expected, with North Up, and West to the left.
