Hey, how do you put a hilt on a sword? Do you make two seperate obejcts and attatch them? If so, how do you do it? Also, how does one put a curve on a blade? Oh, and this is also in the designing forum too, my bad.

There are 2 methods. The simplest is just put an aplpha'ed picture of a sword onto a flattened cube. This works better than you might think.

The second way is to do as you suggested, which is to sculpt the sword out of prims. You will need a minimum of 3 prims (handle, hilt, and blade), but for something very detailed, you may want to use more. For a curved blade, either use part of a cylinder or use several cubes at increasing rotations. If you're not sure what I mean, find me in world and I'll show you. I'm almost always in Indigo.

Select a prim.

Hold shift.

Select another prim.

Tools > Link (or Ctrl+L)

Large prims can be up to 32m apart. The smaller you get, the closer the prims have to be to link them.

Do you have to import an animation for swinging somthing like a Scythe, a pollarm? Also, what is the script to be able to attack with a melee weapon? Finished making a weapon for someone last night, but being the great script kiddie that I am (/sarcasm), I wasn't able to get it to attack. So and tips?
