Akar, two words sum it up really, futurestic action. Akar is to take the sh*t sl combat system (although good for a while, just didnt cut it) and turn it into its own mmorpg. At start you get a pistol and armor, from there you join the battle. The current features we are looking for are experiance points (which determine which guns/armor you can use), factions (to battle over outposts scattered over secondlife), Armor which (duh) subtract the amount of damage a bullet will do, over 30 weapons at launch (includeing the fallen-faith inc. weapons lineup, and muiltple guns made by opfor ceo jack orlowski) most of which will be skinned (thanks to fleabite beach), medical kits and stim packs to make you run faster, do more damage, and be able to leap over buildings in a single bound (ok ok i lied about that last one :P )!

Currently we have grenades, laser and plasma guns, and good ol lead, and one thing that every combatant hates, FLYING WILL BE TAKEN OUT of the akar system, you will NOT be able to fire your weapon while flying, but can take damage. This is because with flying, its alot harder to hit/ get hit, but donot worry, there will not be a single 1 hit kill weapon.

Thats the system, heres why we need the lindens to fund us. As you would imagine, seeing as hamlet was over last night (thanks agian for that hamlet!), the city is HUGE, takeing up ATLEAST 25% of mocha. And as you would imagine, without funding, the outpost battles would be non existant. Basically we are asking the lindens to fund our city and outposts in order to create a more realistic battle system.
And basically, this isnt for us to make money, the only reason akar isnt a non profit system is because of the taxes, without the burden of taxes, akar will be MUCH cheaper. Because we still (as you could imagine) want compensation for our work.

After launch, we are planning to patch akar and add dogfighting and destroyable vehicals to the system. Currently, a few new effects that akar is adding is, destroyable walls, smoke grenades, grenades (which shoot out debris on explosion), and a blood system, where when your shot, you bleed. The health will be set at 100 which will not go up or down, but your defense can change with different armor. We want to thank anyone and everyone who supports us, and just to clear things up, akar and darklife are NOT competeing, I am helping them with weapons, and he is helping me with scripting.

Within the month we should have a playable alpha version with armor, medkits, weapons, and experiance points. However this is really decided by our scripters.

We understand that akar work has gone slower then expected, this is to cut lag to sims and get the best performance possible, we are expecting a very stable alpha soon.

Since part of Akar overhangs my land, can I have your assurance that this 'debris' won't be scattered all over my front lawn, or my events stage every morning?

I worry about the noise of gunfire too...

Im not too sure about that, but seeing as the debris (as a result of grenade explosion) will die after a few second, you dont need to worry about that. Gunfire however, if you Do hear it, it will be muffled.
