Have any of you tried to create a blacklight effect with your lighting? I've got a decent working prototype but I'm wondering if there are any tips and tricks to make the effect more realistic.

It's been a long time, but I thought purple light was the closest approximation.

What do you mean by "lighting"? Are you talking about in-world local lights, or lights you might use in third party 3D app like Maya for texture-baking purposes, or lights in Photoshop applied directly in an image, or something else?

Regular client:
You can use phantom and clear/alpha objects with light specifically placed for certain objects that you want to 'glow' in the regular client. (I usually use clear/transparent so I know where the lights are when moving the build around.)

You can also use a particle script either in the object itself or in another hidden object in a similar way that you can use the lights to make certain aspects 'glow' correctly. Just be careful using extra objects and scripts as using too many particle scripts may cause sim lag. (Translation/Clarification on the lag comment: Try to avoid achieving blingtard status with the particle scripts. ;))

If done correctly it can give off a better effect. Then if you choose to use Windlight then you can toy with the 'glow' effect to see if that enhances it any. Just keep in mind that if you work only in WL then only people using the WL client can see the glow.
