From: Jano Debevec How can I make a curved tip of the ski? Have you any idea? Try making the tip as a separate piece, fashioned from a hollowed and cut cylinder. Make a texture in Photoshop that tapers to the point of the ski, using alpha to make anything outside the ski tip invisible. Unfortunately, you will have leave the edges of the ski tip untextured because a visible edge to the prim will hover well outside the ski tip itself. If the ski is sufficiently thin, though, that deficiency may not be readily apparent. If this method doesn't appeal to you, the other good option is to make the entire ski as a sculpty object.

About the only way to get the "correct" shape is with a sculpted prim. The straight part of the ski could be a normal prim, but the tip would have to be a sculpty.
