My friend has an attachment - A tail, to be specific. In my experience, it should be simple to re-attach this to her spine from her pelvis, or wherever it was attached, but when she tries to reposition it after moving it, it just snaps back to where it was, floating in outer space somewhere. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Thanks in advance.

Some tail scripts record position as part of their wag and other actions. Make sure she stops all scripts in the tail first, then re-position, and then restart scripts.

I have seen a few tail scripts that simply *could not* be attached anywhere other than their intended places, but most tails can reposition easily enough.

Best option for tails is Pelvis, followed by stomach. Spine is a distant third as a positioning choice, as the tail WILL detach visibly when your waist bends too much, depending on what animations you are using.

Also, if you change the angle of a tail, some scripts do the wag based on the original position and orientation of the root prim. For example, if you wanted a "raised tail" version, for a tail without that scripted option, you would rotate the tail (with scripts off), then edit linked parts and rotate the root prim back to zeroed settings before restarting the scripts.
