Most jewelry is created much larger and then shrunk. This makes it easy to build and then only once the creation is all put together - and linked - then you can scale it to the right size. Funny you should ask about this, as I just made a couple of bindi today. Here's how I made my first jewelry. - create the biggest prim first, my central prims started out the "default" size of 0.5m by 0.5m by 0.5m,
- create the smaller prims next with the "proper" size relative to the central prim
- move the smaller prims until they are in the right place relative to the central prim
- link all of them together:
- right-click Edit one of the smaller prims
- hold Ctrl down and click on the other small prims - this will add them to the selection
- still holding Ctrl, click the big prim last, this will make it the center of the collection
- press Ctrl-L to link all the prims together into one object
Attach the jewelry to the proper place - for a bindi this is usually the nose Right-click Edit the jewelry so that is in the right rotation and position - it will be way too big but the center will be in the right place Hold down Ctrl and look for the white "resize" handles to appear. Drag one of the handles until the bindi is the right size for your face - you might need to move it again once it is small Detach the bindi so that it goes into your inventory To wear the bindi now, just right-click it in inventory and pick "Wear" from the menu. The bindi will attach to the last place you had it.
One of the best ways I know to learn how to make something is to study how someone else did it. Yadni's Junkyard is a very good place to find a free thing like what you want to build which you can take apart and examine. I learned jewelry making by watching one of the game's best jewelers work. I have sent the bindis I made to Rhapzody so that you can rip them apart and see how it was put together. Another trick I learned is that making a black surface to work on makes jewelry creation much easier. Good luck. Let me know if you have other questions.

Hi
Thank you for pointing this out. I still have one big problem, I know how to attach things to avatar, but how do I align objects to my avatar? Anybody that can tell me? When I try to drag it in place - it goes everywhere else than I want it. sigh...
Thanks in advance.

Aylah make sure you grab one of the red green blue arrows before you drag. that will keep the motion limited to the direction of the arrow. otherwise yeah it just goes all over the place. you can also hold either control to rotate and shift to resize.

oh Aylah one thing to make sure is that you don't have "snap to grid" checked in the build window when you try to move attachments around. if they're jumping around when you move them that might be it.
