I'm in the midst of a cooperative sim build that's nearing completion and we're trying to get all the builds on the sim set up so that we can deed out portions of the land and not have our items auto returned. unfortunately our experiments so far, of setting an object's group to the group that owns the sim still results in auto-return of objects on the deeded land.
Situation: entire sim built as a series of cities layered on top each other. We would like to deed out plots of land to renters, but have our original builds remain no matter what. In addition we would like for anyone in a particular group to have edit permissions on all of our builds in the sim.
what are the needed steps to:
1) prevent all of the builds from all of the authors from auto-returning no matter who owns a particular parcel (make the builds permanent to the sim more or less) 2) allow all the "permanent" builds to be edited by anyone in a certain group

Can anyone answer this question on dividing land?

Really interested in hearing peoples views on the above question. I've asked around and many people i know who build don't know the answer. One suggestion was "maintain ownership in the group for the land, and change the parcel names only." ?

You could put strategically placed sim-group parcels (you may already have common land like pathways that will serve the purpose) and relink all the builds so the root prim of any shared content is in one of these parcels. A variation of the old trick for cross-sim building and putting builds out in the Void.
