Hello, I'm designing some accesories for avatars, like piercing, rings, etc. I don't know how I can locate and CLAMP the accesorie with precision. Example, how to locate a nipple-piercing right in the nipple ? ... I made testings and I only had the piercing floating around the nipple.

Most nipple piercings that I've bought or made have been attached to either the spine or chest attachment points, rather than the left or right pec points. That should, if I'm reading your problem correctly, prevent the floating piercing you were seeing

No matter which attachment point you choose, there is very little chance that they will end up right on the nipple for any given avatar as the breasts are modifiable in size, weight, cleavage, etc. and even placement on different skins. The best advice if you are going to sell them is to make them modifiable so the consumer can move them into place. I would also recommend having them start out away from the body. It is very difficult to explain to a new resident how to get a prim out of their body, or why it is inside it in fhe first place. It would be so much better if we had a nipple attachment point, but that is a whole different discussion.

This is a variation on the skirt-fitting conversation I have joined each time it has been posted in these forums. Just as in RL, we are not all created equal. People and avatars come in all sizes and shapes, so it shouldn't be any surprise that most attachments don't fit properly when you buy them "off the rack." Unfortunately, many people in SL don't care or -- more likely -- can't figure out how to adjust attachments, so they wander around with their butts hanging out of prim skirts and with nipple rings floating in front of their chests. There's not much that a designer can do to beat the problem except teach buyers one at a time.

better to have it float out in front a little bit, and provide a notecard with quick instructions to edit it into place (basic placement does NOT require +mod, but really, it's just a torus and some textures)

From: Prolacta Genesis Thank you! I was using left/right pec, ...now using spine it is just perfect wouldn't recommend the spine over the chest, as it's VERY popular to use for other things (tails, wings, backpacks, jetpacks, extra arms, etc...) whereas chest is very under used

But yes, this is also the most common point for nipple piercings. If you are feeling up to it, it is not a bad idea to have two versions in your package. One for chest and one for spine, then label them as such in the name.
