Builder needed for "Habbitat for SL Community" project.

I have 10,000m2 in Aqua on the western sim edge which I have divided into 5, 576m2 parcels with 20meters between each parcel for privacy. The homes will be placed on a 10,000m2 platform at 300m altitude with a very "village / culdesac / sub-division" feel in the lag free sky.

The homes must be built according to 500-576m2 blue print home plans with a pic of the home to be built as a visual aid. Prim limits of course.

These homes are "FREE" - I will maintain onwership of the land under the "Aqua Village" group. And each resident can control the prims on their own parcel.

131 prims per 576m parcel.

These homes will be given away via an interview process in this order:
- 1 resident, 1 week old or less
- 1 resident, in their 2nd week
- 1 resident, in their 3rd week
- 2 residents, 4-6 weeks.

What is needed is a builder :)

If anyone is willing to volunteer their build skills and time for this project. Please contact me inworld and/or post a message here. I will compensate you for your time but can only afford about 500-1000 per home if pay is a must.

Thank you :)

I'd be happy to volunteer time to build! I have never, however, tried to model a home after a picture, though, so it may be an experiment in "build to spec" for me, but I love a challenge, and am finding I am pretty good! I can show you some of the structures I have so far built from my head, and you can judge me skillz :) My style tends to be more contemporary, but I think I can adapt to almost any style.

If you like, I'll IM you in SL tonite, and I can tour the site, and check out some of your specs to see if I think I can do it. I love to build houses... not much for "interior decoration" though, so I hope I won't be asked to furnish inside :P

If not tonite, let me know what time works... I won't be on until probably closer to 1:00GMT (5:00 PST)

If your still looking for builders, I would be more than willing to help! Still pretty new, but I run a sign shop in RL so building has come quite easy in SL!

Wow. A land barron who can only afford 500 to 1000.

I can make a home for this project. Inside I'll put a plaque over the fireplace saying 'I'm a sucker'.

That was a curiously aggressive post Julia and I'm quite confused by it. Am I missing something..? My impression is that Brianna is simply creating a place for newbies to live, for free, and was seeking builders. Am I wrong or is this a bad thing in some way?

If the person in question has a reputation for taking advantage of newbies or not paying builders or commissioning builds and then tearing them down without paying then it could be considered a form of public service.

I'm not saying that these conditions obtain, but if they did, Julia's post would probably be warranted.

The project is something i took on and dedicated several thousand linden towards.

Nothing 'sucker' about helping to build homes for new residents to live for free in.

Your posts directed at me are continuously hostile, extremely negative, and you seem to go out of your way to attack me. This says to me that you spend way too much time thinking about me, what I am doing in SL and with who I am doing it with all in a rather obsessive attempt to try to fit me in this very negative template you've made for me.

Just go on with your Second Life Julia and stop thinking about Briana Dawson :) Turn that frown upside down :D

And no need to attack me in a thread where I am trying to help residents here - well, I you can if you like of course its your prerogative, you seem to like thinking of me, even if its all negative. :p

That's spelled "ALL of the above".
You're manipulation of land prices is well known.

Well we can only hope that it is indeed for that reason that its being made.

As for the attacks, well, those who dealt with land barrons in the past can pretty much explain where that remark came from.

Funny I never mentioned anything about you doing anything with anyone and everyone yet you seem to imply I have said it somewhere in my thread. Interesting.

So what's to say about that Jai? Curious about that too or should we just mark it up as a 'oops'? :)

Now.. you might actually help the newbies by telling them about the land for the homeless the Lindens are continuously offering. That'd be helpful to them.

Several thousand invested is nice when it covers the several hundreds of thousands from the land deals. but then again, no one forced them to buy it. Thus the 'I'm a sucker' comment.

Or actually easier, lets do a recap.

I've been on the topic of land barrons and ulterior motives behind the generosity based on past actions of said person. I have kept on the topic and yet for some reason I'm accused or bringing up something I've not said or made a point of here which makes me question again on the whole thing.

So far I've only been talking about the above. Maybe its guilt that guides your words. I can't really say as its all you on that end.

Julia: So what's to say about that Jai?

Haha, I have no idea actually but it is none of my business really. As is often the case when I post to the forums - I now wish I hadn't. :)

I have met yourself Julia, and I have met Brianna - and to be honest you both seem like lovely people - so I think I will exit this thread now. I was merely curious about the comments made, but maybe an IM would have been better.

Take care all (and I mean 'all')..

Just a quick comment, there is no "Land for the Homeless" but "Land for the Landless".

Land for the Landless program sells 512 m2 to those who have no land, and the people who offer homes to the Basic Account is a totally different thing. The Basic Account is not entitled to land.

There are several people here in SL who have put up free dwellings (apartment buildingss and/or houses) to give a place to the Basic Accounters.

Some supply them free of charge, Garth and I have 10 cottages in Taber that we charge $25 a week for. Jai has 3 there that are free. We decided to charge a nominal fee merely to keep track that they were indeed using the cottage. Some of our tenants have converted to the "landed" accounts and moved on.

There are other SL players that offer "Sand Box" areas also for the Basic account holders to build in.

I have attempted building in Aqua....300 meters might not be high enough to avoid the lag........might need Aquala/u(n)g there...

and I just don't do well with blue prints....kind of uninspiring...also you might need to get every prim I rez approved by a Linden...
