Would anyone go to a sim dedicated to gambling and avatar fun. Along with gambling there could be nightclubs, lofts, and retail space. I want to know what everyone thinks.

Sounds like a proposal for a lag-fest to me, but I'm a curmudgeon.

Well if i could ever get this idea off the ground i would have to wait till 1.4 and havok 2 so i could have a high population sim and have little lag. I was also thinking of including interactive games into the plan. Again I want some people's input.

I think its a good idea - but seeing how I live in Vegas in RL, I more than likely wouldn't visit..

.. in that though, I'm the exception to the rule :)

Siggy.

I think it would be better to just buy a sim out, get all the land, and invite people to drop their casinos there, then collect the mostrous dwell while the casinos make money. Win win.

Good idea Darwin. Oh I would also like to say that I am not a gambling addict and in fact I don't condone gambling in real life one bit. Keep the ideas coming.

If you did "Vegas" right it could be great. The problem is that SL is flooded with basically Indian Casinos - kind of lame isolated spots to put money in machines and gamble. An SL version of Vegas with the huge rides, spectacular buildings, first class shows, and maybe some gambling too would be far above the gambling scene in SL today.

Yes if I ever did get this project going I would definitely encourage casino builders to put rides and interactive showson their property. More suggestions are appreciated.

The thing with the 'new vegas' is that it's all themed.. every casino on the strip has it's own look and feel and runs with it (sometimes over the top - but nonetheless).
Shows, rides, entertainment, shopping all take equal importance to gambling... In New Vegas nothing is too big or too gaudy! take your idea and SUPERSIZE IT.

- if you go down the strip towards Freemont Street (past Sahara towards downtown) you will see more of 'old vegas' - which is still 'just gambling' -- well gambling and titty bars.

This is still where a lot of the casinos and gaming houses in SL are.. The Whitestar (sp?) is one the is breaking free from that with its galleria of designer clothes and such...
Still a ways to go though.

may help a lil with direction.. feel free to IM me for any questions/info on Vegas -- be happy to help.

Siggy.

One final thing Bam: be sure to put a road system in (perhaps like the Las Vegas strip?) to make it nice and organized, and not a huge jumble everywhere. This sounds like it'll be FANTASTIC if it's done right.
