ok when i go in to edit and turn on the grid cause i like to use it .. but i though we were suppost to be able to open the grid options and change the number values. ? so that the grid is in smaller or larger increments when u use your curser to lock on to it? i change the numbers and i get no change at all . i have for example went from 0.010 to 0.500 and no change? can anyone tell me how to get this to change? very frustrating. :( i can change the length of it but not the increments.

well either u all dont know the answer or u dont know what im talking about. I use the grid all the time however when i go to the grid options, and change the number values. my grid doesnt change with it? its frustrating when u are using the curser and moving with the grid and it jumps to far ahead of what u want it to. i seen the torley video on this and all he did was change the number values in the options of the grid in the edit window. but when i change mine it doesnt do anything...the marks on the grid remain the same, do i have to activate it some way? or is there a bug? advice would be greatly appreciated . thank you

I won't be able to get in-world until later tonight, but there is something on the Options screen called Sub-unit Snapping (I think that is what it is called, anyway.) Did you turn that on?

I have figured out most of the grid options myself, but will look for Torley's video later to see what he has to say.

It worked fine last time I used it, but I'll go and see if it's still working.

(added after going inworld to check) -It's working as usual for me - maybe there's a partial disconnection problem for you that stops changes from taking effect.

hi cheree , im not sure i will check when i get home also.. but i have no problem seeing and using the grid if that is what u mean. i just cant change the number values that i thought makes the lines on the grid either closer or further apart . if that makes sence.

Make sure that your number lock is on if you are using the number pad on your keyboard.

ok i will check about the number lock but i dont think this is the same thing.. what im seeing is .. u know how when u go to click on one of the red or green or blue arrows.. and the grid lights up and u can move your curser over to lock on to the grid? well after u do that , u move along the notches of the grid... and i cant change the space between the notches to make them closer or further apart. i thought u could change this with the grid options tab? when i do change the number values in the "grid options tab" i get no change.

I understand. I was suggesting anything I could think of. I still think it could be a partial disconnection. Has this happened in various places/times? Check the jira to see if it's a known issue.

In the past it would occasionally happen that attemping to change a prim would be futile as it snapped back to its previous shape - and that was due to a partial disconnection so that the new position information was never transmitted to the server. It would seem possible that in this case the changing numerals are not being relayed successfully.

Make sure A/V is not blocking the connection.

Dunno, truthfully.

no its always been like this.. i just never got around to posting about it. i can however if i want to line something up .. the original piece i snap it to y and x and then use it as my main piece, and after that i can use the grid to make the other pieces line up to this original piece . how ever i cant change the size or the space between the grid marks . so if i want to move the piece a small amount at a time i cant do so.

try it osprey.. go open your edit build window and check the grid so u can use it then in the same area click on grid options.. there are two and the first one should change your spaces between the notches of the grid and the second one changes how long the actual grid stretches across the screen.

As I said in my first post I went inworld just now to see if it was still functioning and it worked as it should. I use it every day, and it worked as it always has.

I have been looking at the jira but searching for "grid" is really not very useful.

Yes the meters are only for world and attachment rulers! Reference and local unit is a prim so it is different if you have a big or small prim.
