The Gigas Residential Project (name still pending), is seeking skilled builders and designers from the SecondLife community to take part in a new project. We are looking for a variety of builders, texturer's and artisans of various skills, to join the project. We will be paying the designers of items on a per-use/contract base. This is open to anyone to contribute. Some of the concerns raised in the last announcement have been addressed, and we invite everyone to look over the new rules available here, which we feel accomidates the concerns raised. If you have any concerns, questions or comments, please feel free to contact Nexus Nash or Adam Zaius!

You may put anything in your house (your creations too)! Premade sets ARE offered, IF you want to use them... it's up to you! The whole plan is to give all the residents a patch of land with a really nice *empty* house! You are free to rez anything you like, inside/outside on your land!

oh. the part on the webpage about a lag free community made me think you were controlling all the objects that could be used. if you can rez anything you want how do you keep it lag free? someone could drop their Armchair With A Million Scripts(tm).

In a sense rules will come into affect... stuff like "Armchair With A Million Scripts(tm)." will probably get deleted by Adam or myself. I've been in SL for a long time I know what causes "lag" (server and client are 2 different things) In this community if you make something that will degrade the sim's preformance and degrade your neighbours SL experience, we will return the object to you. But other then that, you can make scripted items, put them in your homes, show them off, whatever as long as when you pop out your armchair, sim fps does go from 5000 to 200!

From: Zuzi Martinez i dunno guys, how are you going to keep people from causing lag? go through their homes all the time searching for bad scripts? do you have some tools to help out? The new alt+1 tools will help a bit. But as Adam and I are experienced players in SL. There are tell tale signs that something is causing client or server lag. LL is also very helpfull at finding trouble causing objects in a certain server, so from time to time we might call upon them to help us!
