Was playing around with some physical properties of light. Some vary particular properties that I'm looking to hack into Photoshop. I am exceptionally pleased with what I've got so far.
So I decided to see what others where up to in the way of what I've been playing with. I find out that I have been doing my own version of an 'unbiased' renderer. After looking at some of these, I found Lux. I heard it mentioned somewhere that some devs are looking to tightly integrate it with Blender. Or something like that. Since there are quite a few Blender users in these parts, thought I might drop a note.

I haven't played with Lux at all, but some of y'all might find an interesting diversion or use for it.
I have been playing a little bit with an unbiased renderer called Kerkythea.
While I do like the underlying structure of unbiased renderers, the flavors of what's out there doesn't suite my current needs. So I'm back to hacking away in PS.
Might be interesting to read about or play with. Maybe you'll find another trick to tuck under you hat.
