Hi, I just rezzed a house from one of those rezz boxes and I want to put the objects inside the house before I relocate to another sim...I was wondering if I placed all of the furniture in the house and clicked save in the box menu, would the objects still be in the house when I rezzed it again.

The rezzer does not save the actual prims of the house, it just records their positions. It doesn't know anything about and doesn't save anything that it hasn't rezzed.

Just checked to see if you were on...I'm not understanding this. Does that mean that the furniture will remain placed in the house when I take it up?

Depends on what you mean by "take it up".

If you take the house up using the Linden tools by selecting the whole house and contents and using the pie menu "Take", then it will go back into your inventory as a group (it will appear as a collection of blocks) including whatever you put into it.

If you use some rezzer object provided by the person who created the house to "save" it, the objects you put in the house yourself will remain in the sim, they will not be saved anywhere, they will just sit there in-world.

would it be better if I linked everything together and took a copy?

There are limits to linking. But you can select alot to 'grab' everything and take them into inventory and rerezzed them when you get to the new location.

NO.

Doing that would be like super-gluing all your furniture in place. There is no heirarchical linking in SL. Once you link a chair and a table to the house, they are just additional prims linked to the house. To move the chair you would have to unlink JUST the chair parts, re-link those to themselves, and pray that you got the same root prim as the furniture was designed for. Most likely if any of the furniture is scripted, it will also destroy its functionality if you link, for example, a scripted bed to the rest of the house.

And as others stated, you have a limited number of prims that can be linked at once (255), as well as limits to how far apart prims can be for linking.

If your rezzer gives you the ability to repeatedly "Clean up " (removing the house) and "Build", then the things that didn't come with the house remain exactly where they were, floating in the air. The rezzer does not know your furniture exists, and it can not collect the items for you. You woud want to take the other items back into inventory and then when you move and set the house back up, put the furnishings back in one thing at a time.
