This is a great idea - and might be something that would let me lure my skeptical gaming buddies to SL - right now, they refuse to believe it's not at all like TSO. (They all have pizza-making PTSD!) Let me know if you get this going, and I'll try to use it to speak to their inner geeks!

I'm interested also. Scripting would be my major contribution, though I can build decently. And I can hunt down raw stuff for textures.
Anybody here ever do any ST RPing on IRC? (Yes I know I'm giving myself out to the various "nerd" "geek" catcalls) |

Something tells me that the red uniforms may not be too popular...
![]() ![]() Anyway, BQ: Group just means that you set up a subset of the SL population as members of your group. This enables you to set group permissions on objects, so that non-group members can't copy/mod objects while group members *can*. Also, you get to be able to do a group IM that reaches all people who're listed as members of your group. Also, groups have two tiers of membership, so you can set different names or the same names for the tiers. (rumor says that 1.1 will have more tiers, but we've all heard that 1.1 will miraculously cure leprosy and turn water into wine) Fact: In 1.1, you will have much more power insofar as group ownership and such goes. Check the announcements, I think there's a list in there of exactly what is what. Hope this helps clear things up! _____________________

I'd be interested in helping out with building and scripting (not roleplaying), but I won't have time until after Halloween. I'll check back then to see how things are going.

Hehe, no need to resort to Ryen Jade. We already have a few scripters in the group ^_~

Hello. Just to let the Star Trek roleplayers know, I have Star Trek uniforms for sale.
Currently I have a ST:TNG captain (red) and a ST:TNG lieutenant (yellow). And coming *very* soon, ST:TOS uniforms: blue, gold, red, all ranks. TOS accessories too (phasers, tricorders). I'll also custom-make uniforms and avatars. IM me in-game for details. |

I'd like to say I LOVE the uniform Cubey made for me. It tickles the fancy of my inner geek and with it's stylish red shirt it clearly marks me as monster meat!

NCC 1701-B Bridge
02-26-2004 06:52
I don't know if BQ or anyone else is still interested in this, but I've been working on the bridge of the Enterprise -B in Tan (117, 94). That's the Excelsior class refit from the beginning of Generations (it's my favorite Enterprise because its design is the most deliberately nautical). If you want to check it out, the south side turbolift door will open when you touch it. I have a lot of work left, but I'm not going for perfection or I'd get bored and give up. My plan is to wrap a bit of saucer hull around it and put it in the sky, so you'd use a turbolift to get up to it. If anyone wants to donate textures or sounds, that'd be cool. Or just drop by and sit in the captain's chair (surprisingly fun).
I'd like to buy an appropriate captain's uniform if anyone is interested in making one (basically Wrath of Khan style). _____________________

I'm interested, but only if I get to be a red-shirt that dies in the first two minutes. Ain't nothing like the glory of sacrifice for the Federation.

Apparently by Star Trek 2 the doomed ensigns had figured out what was going on with the red shirts. So they gave everyone red uniforms to confuse them. But I would avoid wearing funny security guard helmets.
I remembered the Generations soundtrack (strangely) included sound effects tracks. So now the door swishes and I'll have the bridge make beep-chirp-whoop noises. _____________________

Shameless non-profit plug. I wanted to say that progress is continuing on the Enterprise B bridge in the center of Tan. I attached a picture.

I would love to be involved in Star Trek stuff....I noticed this is a pretty old thread, Is there a group or has this stuff started? I can be found in Cowell! The only star trek stuff I've seen so far is a borg ship in Maroon!

LOL I don't mean to play down what you people are up to; I mean, it's cool and all... but depending on what you mean by RPG, are we seeing the tragic beginings of Second-LARP?

That looks *very* cool. Who was it who had the Enterprise A bridge in Welsh? Can't remember, but it was quite cool. BTW, I still have the STTOS uniforms, and they're now only one L-dollar each, and they come with a working phaser. You can get them at Abbots Aerodrome, on level one (near the 737). _____________________

Cubey - Zebulon dropped by and gave me a TOS bridge which I haven't rezzed yet. I'll be giving away the B bridge once I get it packaged up. I made a Wrath of Khan captain's jacket - maybe I'll just stick it in a dispenser on the bridge. Oops, I mean a replicator.
