I am just getting the hang of building. Building is easy because the shapes are inorganic and so are the prims that we use. However, I have a vision of something that I want to build and I might just have to go out and buy an entire island to build it on (if I can't find any land that those ----- landbarrons haven't jacked the price to 10x what it was the day before). My vision most closely resembles the Wood Elven city of Kelethin from EQ if any of you have played that you know what i mean.... EQ had the luxury of having fog in that zone so you cant see so high, and you can't fly in that game. So all they did was made pillars with treebark textures.... I don't have that luxury and I probobly wouldn't want it anyway. I want to learn how to build some nice realistic tree's with leaves and supporting branches for some treehouses that I'm going to build. These treehouses will be connected to eachother and to various open platforms via hanging bridges and ramps and such. Any pointers on building trees? I think i figured out how some of the tree's in luskwood are done.... they build a pillar, put a point on the top, and throw like 3 or 4 large dense leafy tree's in the top of the pillar going out at angles. That would work for some of my less important platforms and treehouses but I'd like one grand tree to house the greatest dwelling a nature lover like me could concieve =)

(Sorry if any of this makes zero sense or if there are holes in my thought LOL I didn't take the time to stop and think about what I wanted to say and instead said everything as it came to mind.)

I get ya Ark. You might want to go to Teal and check out Jopsy Pendragons tree...big tree with a hobbit hole in the bottom , very well done. You also might want to see Higby Protagonists tree in Ameratsu also very well done. These might give you an idea of what you can do.

Speak with either of them and I'm sure they can get you going in the right direction. Be forwarned though...after you've seen what these two can create you will become a building junkie searching for the perfect prim.

There are some giant trees in Seacliff, too.

Check out Ananda Sandgrain's tree in Rodeo. It's right at the entrance to the large bay in the SE corner. Just beautiful.

Unfortunately, Ananda took her build down yesterday afternoon.

You might also check out Luskwood in Lusk. It had a few giant trees, including one that has an AV Museum inside it, and quite a few tree platforms similar to Kelethin even.

Steller Sunshine has a pretty decent large tree too (haveta use search to find it, I don't have the coords readily available here). Also the Players mansion is supported on a huge tree base. Good luck! Ark what I've seen you have up so far is pretty damn good for only a few days of building!
