Heya,
Im sure I have gone brain dead lately but anyway. How can you cahnge typw of tree you rez when you create a SL tree?
So far all that happens is it rez's a random tree but I thought that there was a way to either select or change tree type. Maybe im just wrong.
Thanks.

I never use the pie menu to create a tree, As you found, that gets you a random tree type. Instead, I look for the tree I want in the Library section of inventory, and rez it from there.

Back when I was doing a lot of landscaping, I would rez "bouquets" of trees.
Basically, I'd spend some time putting trees into a pleasing arrangement. Then, I'd take that into inventory. I had several of these arrangements and labeled them according to how many trees were in them and the land area that they would cover.
Then, when I was landscaping, I'd just rez one of these from inventory. I would rez with the edit dialog open, so that they stay selected after rezzing. Place it, rotate. If I was covering a large area, I'd shift-drag it to copy it, rotate, etc.
You can cover a huge area very quickly this way and end up with a very pleasing look.
Another tip related to trees is to turn on Advanced > Rendering > Hide Selected. This can make it much easier to select a group of trees.
