Coomunications array

Ok if you have been following the egotistical banter over in NWN, you might have noticed that i am going to deploy a communications array across all of SL. The main purpose will be to facilitate the disemination of information, if you choose to allow it. It will act very much like a radio system, in that you will need to have a reciever to hear anything that is being said. I want to put everyones fears to rest, it will not be listening/recording peoples conversations, it will only broadcast speech if you have a transmitter(which at the moment will be some of the lindens, and myself of course)

so what good can come of this? well it means that everyone can listen into the town hall meetings, taxis will be able to be 'hailed'... and any number of other things you can think of.

i have gibson and bonifacio already coved, we use it to talk to one another as a group, or to talk smack during tank wars, but this is a special instance, in that we all know about it, and we want to be able to chat amongst ourselves. if you have need of such a set up, tell me, and we can work something out.

as a timeline, i would like to have it up and running by the end of this weekend.

Are you sure this is wise? Communications Arrays usually fuXXored things for the Enterprise crews.

Kathy, yes, I am going to hold a group meeting to discuss all of this further in the coming days...there are numerous changes occuring at JMTC!

Nada, I'd love to hear more about this array! Over in Gray we are gearing up to run air races, and it would be great to have a way to track the races across multiple sims.

I am looking at a way for race checkpoints to report back times when racers cross them, without having to be within shouting distance.

Do you think your system could be used for this purpose?
