I am so enamored with Fleabite's world map in Taber with "pins" showing where everyone lives in RL that now I'm wanting a community Christmas/Holiday tree.
I was thinking of placing a large tree on my land in Taber, undecorated, left for the members to decorate with things representative of you or your group. Everything could be returned after the holidays.
What do you think? Anyone interested?

Sounds very cool! It'd have to be a BIG tree, though. If everyone can put in a description on the ornament, that'd be even better.

How big a tree would you like to make? I got started on a nice evergreen that should be about 100 meters around! It may take a couple months to deliver though - I've only got one branch so far.

May I suggest a *really* simple tree, made from several cones with a nice texture (I have one that might work, I'll give it to you tonight Maggie). My thinking is that it's the decorations that will make it look nice and groovy.
Also, you don't have a hell of alot of room at your house Maggie, whereas Fallingwater and I have at 20x20 deck doing nothing at the moment. We'd be happy to 'host' the tree for the duration. (ahem... I'm *sure* she would mind heh)

Thanks, Eddie. I'll look for your tree. I photoshopped one, but your idea of a really simple tree to let the ornaments show better is a good one.
BTW, my house is gone. Put away. Plenty of room for the tree on the hill. But I'll use your deck if it looks like that might be a better place.
You and Falling are such good people. Thanks.

Of course I wouldn't mind, Eddie. oops, hit post accidentally...
Maggie, I like the idea. It will be cool to see what kind of ornaments people make. The tree might look nicer on your hill (I hope you'll resurrect that house sometime. I liked it.) but of course you can try both.
