I'm putting my first steps in Blender these days, and I come along a problem with texturing sculpties. In Blender the texture looks perfectly like I want it, but then when I upload it, the label gets more blurry and the lines are not scharp anymore. I made the cigar out of a sphere. I used the scripts of Domino to export it, and made a 64x64 texture for it. I also tried to upload the sculpt on a 512x512 texture, to see if that gives better texturing result, but that is not the case. I also tried to correct the lines in all LOD levels, but made just a little difference. Who can help me with this. What am I doing wrong, that my texture gets so messy in SL?

Make sure that when you upload your 64x64 sculpt map you check 'Use Lossless Compression'.
As long as you do that, and haven't added vertices in Blender, it should come out just about as smooth as it looks in Blender. At the moment, your sculpt looks a bit lumpy in SL, and that's the first thing I always check when that happens.
Also, remember that sculpts can take a bit of time to load to their highest LOD sometimes, so give it a minute or two to be sure.
(Assuming you also started with one of Domino's sculpt primitives in Blender. If not, then it could be an inaccurate UV setup or base model)

From: Madeliefste Oh Hurray, that did the trick!!! Thanks a lot. Sometimes you try so hard to find a solution, that is very simple Yay ^-^ Be glad it's working properly now, though.. used to be that the lossless upload within SL was borked, and if you didn't realize that, you could spend forever fixing imaginary problems XD Glad to know that got it done, though, have fun =D
