Build the poses right into the pillows or other prims. This is helpful to get those dreaded numbers right:

Well, you can make your poseballs transparent by applying a 100% alpha texture, or you can simply put the sit script in a cushion or the seat of your chair/sofa/bench and do away with the separate ball completely. The advantage of a pose ball or a pillow is that a buyer can fairly easily adjust it up/down with basic edit tools. If you opt instead to put the sit script in your furniture, a buyer has to actually monkey with the script itself to move the sit target up/down. Most people don't have the knowledge or patience for that. It does save a prim, though, and it gets rid of the ugly pose ball.

It is perhaps less annoying if you make the pose balls small, and texture them in some way that more or less matches the furniture. Get rid of the title that says, Sit Here. _____________________

I use something called 'Easy Sit Target System'. It allows you to adjust the sit position and produces a script which you can place directly in your object with no need for a pose ball. I believe it will work with specific animations too. Wish I could remember where I got it - it was a freebie. You may try Xstreet or contact me in world and I will give you a copy.

You can make every and any prim that makes up the furniture parts as a poseball using easy sit target. Highly recommended and takes about a minute to do.

Just remember, if you eliminate the pose balls, you need to provide some other way for the end-user to be able to easily adjust their position. Otherwise, the poses will only look right if they are the same size as your test avatar that you position the poses with. A small or large avatar will be floating above it or embedded in it, unless an adjustment can be made.
