Joining Land

Prob a bit of a basic question. I have just bought a few plots of land adjoining each other. Is there any advantage or disadvantage in joining them together.

I dont know if any real advantage to it, but its easier to manage and think about if its all one plot.

The advantage is the dwell, instead of being split between several plots, it is accumulated on all your land.

Also did you know you can join plots that are not touching to the main plot? As long as they are in the same sim.

joining lets you manage the land as a single block and accumulate dwell in one place. the latter is good if you're trying to be listed as a popular place.

when you join, if there are other peoples objects on one of the lots, be sure to add it to the selection LAST. just as when you link prims, the last lot you drag the selection box over will be the parent land that will determine the settings for the entire joined parcel. non-parental land will automatically return other's objects when the join occurs.

the primary advantage to subdividing land is being able to have alternate settings from the main lot. slate, for example has a large neighborhood holding with a few smaller, subdivided lots, such as the theater/park, that can be listed separately in places. another instance is the coda's new land editing school with a subdivided area that can be set to public edit when classes are in session.
