Can someone tell me how can I obtain/make "turquoise colored water" please? Usually Linden's water is colored from "light blue to blue" depends on depth. Lately I've seen lots of private islands (Homestead) have turquoise colored water by the shores. I went to check it to see if there is an object placed underneath the water surface - but found none. Is there an option for estate manager to change the color of the water? Thanks much!! I learn a lot from this Forum

There is nothing in the Estate controls that allows a sim owner or Estate Manager to change the water color in their sim.
Where I have seen this, it was a megaprim just above or just below the water surface. If you have "select only my objects" checked in Tools, you wouldn't be able to click on it or detect it. If unchecked, you might not realize you had selected it, because the center cross hairs and edges may be well beyond your camera view.

You can probably do it with the environment controls under the world menu, but a megaprim is the only way to do it so everyone else can see.

The environment controls are great but has anyone seen or heard news of when, if ever, they will be available for sim owners to set localised weather? As it stands these settings are kind of a pointless frill for anyone other than photographers to use.

As it stands these settings are kind of a pointless frill for anyone other than photographers to use. At the moment, that is all Windlight is. There is still no way to set environment settings at a sim level, though this was promised. There is still no way to share settings with others, though this was promised. As is all too often the case, LL left the job half-done, and wandered off to do other tasks. The way it SHOULD work is a sim owner should be able to set custom sim conditions, and on entering the sim a resident should get a choice of accepting the custom sim settings, or using their own settings, with the default being what the sim owner set. But LL has not even tried to implement that yet.

you still can to a point I suppose. You can edit an estate sim and set the sun, maybe it was something like lighting. There are some pretty crazy combinations that you can pull off if you are clever enough. And any visitor will take the same lighting scheme in their client. If not, have me stumped too.

Sounds to me, what you're looking at, is part of the waves, backwash, etc from from Naiman Broome. It is a megaprim that hides under the water, that's why you cant select it. It's rather large - full or 1/4 sim size, so you may not be able to use it at your own place.
There may be other creators, too.

There may be other creators, too. YAY!! I found it @ Naiman Broome's store ... it is kewl & inexpensive ... I've placed layers of them (turqouise & emerald) on waters in my land ... and they look stunning!! Thx again for the tip *smiles*

Actually, you can change the waters colour. Enviroment Editor for Island sims. i have purple rippling water, even change its texture if you wish.
World/Enviroment settings/Enviroment editor/Advanced water/ then change colour and texture from there.
So yes, free and simple and no need for megaprim colour changes.

So yes, free and simple and no need for megaprim colour changes. That only affects what YOU see. It has no impact on what anyone else sees. The OP wanted everyone to see the turquoise water.

Hmmmm Maybe because its 3am here, but were does she say she wants everyone to turquoise water, and i have my water changed yet my alt sees it the same color, with a different viewer as well. i actually changed the texture to a texture i made and uploaded. I must run and test this out as i thought everyone could see it, not clientside specific.

You can change the land textures on a private island. It may be that the land under the water is turquoise coloured.
