So lets say I build a mgnificent house with terraforming and landscaping and all that right on their lot. Now how do I give that person the building?

Hey, what's up?
You can choose to sell the objects on the parcel with the lot (it's a question in the land sale settings that you have to answer yes or no too, so you can't miss it). Of course, the house has to have transfer permissions or it won't work. _____________________

Oops, re-reading this, it sounds like you built on their lot. In that case, just set the original object for sale for 0L$ but don't do that until the person is right there ready to "buy." Also, take a copy of the build first to be on the safe side.

You can take large builds into inventory using Builders' Buddy, which is free, or Rez Foo, which you need to buy, and deliver copies in the usual manner. Apparently Rez Foo can set up an entire sim. I believe there are other systems for doing this but these are perhaps the best known examples.
It seems a shame to sell the only version of your work without keeping a copy for resale or for your personal record at least. Even if your client has paid you a lot of cash for exclusive rights, I think it would still be wise to keep a copy in case something goes wrong or they request a modified version at some point in the future. |

There are several ways:
1: Pack it Packing the build up with Builder's Buddy or a similar rezzer is the best course. Once it is packed and you have taken a copy of the rezzer for yourself, then without moving the rezzer, sell the *rezzer* to them, as "Sell original", and instruct them to click the Build choice to rebuild the structure, owned by them. This has the advantage that both you, and they, have a backup of the building. === 2: Parcel Sale If this is not on the Mainland, or if it is Mainland and you're both Premium members, and the size of the lot won't push you past your tier limits to the next tier, you can do it as part of a parcel sale. I use this method for huge and complex builds in new parcels, or even whole-sim transfers. First, make SURE the permissions are set as you desire for the 'next owner' permissions on the entire build, including any scripts and other contents of the build. Second, have the person sell the parcel to you, making sure they do NOT have the "Include objects with sale" option checked. Third, sell the parcel right back to them, but with the "Include objects with sale" option checked. Every transferrable prim on the parcel that was yours is now owned by them. And it has no effect on the other prims on the parcel that they may have already owned. === 3: Piece by piece If you don't want to pack it, and if they don't trust you to sell the parcel to you and you to sell it back, or if it's Mainland and you aren't Premium or you don't have enough tier fre, or if for any other reason the above two options won't work for you... Set up in Tools to choose "only my objects" and try to "take copy" a coallesced object of the build into your own inventory, so you have a backup. Then you'll have to set each piece individually for sale as "Sell Original", and they will have to buy each piecen individually. Down to the last plant in the garden. This last choice also has a serious security risk, as ANYONE who is in camera range could, between you setting the house for sale and the client buying it, buy the item out from under the two of you, stealing it. There is no way to sell an original copy of an object, in-place, only to a designated buyer. _____________________
Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

of course if you weren't paid up front, you can stick prices on the pieces to prevent other people from snapping it up for free (or if you use a rez boxing solution just set the price on that)
