The CC Public Library is being constructed in the new city and is ready to begin cataloging material. CC has a dual meaning. Aside from being the initials of our benevolent land donor, it also abbreviates "carbon copy" exemplifying the theme of this project, to provide useful material to the residents through a usable interface.

Usable means that the buttons and such are designed for humans. Your av can watch; but it's be the users themselves that need to search and retrieve the data.

I'm going to begin by sorting scripts because there is overwhelming demand for a centralized script depository. If you have a script, that you wrote, and that you are willing to place in the public domain, please copy it into a notecard and drop it on me inworld. Please make the notecard copy/mod.

The text must include the name of the programmer that originated the code, the code (of course), and enough comments that a person can understand and edit the script with reasonable ease.

*note: You may send me code you didn't write but think is good material for the library and I will attempt to get publishing permission from the writer.

Good luck with this Khamon, if there is anything I can do to help - just shout.

Great idea and much needed. I hope it will include resident created fiction too, that would be fabulous.

Khamon, the Writer's Circle would most likely be willing to donate some things. Let us know :D

I love the idea. :)

The more libraries I see in SL the happier I will be.

Thank you one and all for the script donations. They'll be sorted and available some time this weekend.

Donation prims are now located on the West wall just inside the CC Public Library door. If you have any of the following types of materials that you'd like to donate, please drop them in the appropriate prims and I'll add them to the collection.

Inworld Fiction
Images
Inworld Poetry
Sounds
Scripts
Textures

PLEASE NOTE: it is very very important that the files have a descriptive (searchable) name and that they are copy/mod so that the library staff can manipulate them.

We hope to have enough of each type of material available by next weekend to host an opening event. Thank you all for your support.

Khamon, I stumbled across this build the other day without knowing what it was, and thinking it was marvelous (big fan of Jopsy's work). Went out today expressly looking for it, and was delighted to see that it was the building I had explored earlier. I don't get out much these days, I guess!

Love what you all are doing, brilliant work!
