I need to build a radio tower on top of a club I want to build. I want to make it realistic but by only using a few prims, less then 5 if I can get away with it. Is there actually any premade towers like this that would save me the trouble because I'm new to building? Or do I have to build my own?

I think the best way top do a tower like that is using textures with alpha channel, depending on the size you want that tower you can use just one pri maybe...

If I remember correctly it was something like 20-30 meters all, with a flashing orange particle light atop it. I seem to remember it was near or at your low prim requirement.

yes, it can easily be done with one prim per 10m of height. take a box and stretch it all the way on z-axis and make the x/y sizes about 2m each. then hollow it all the way. bring the top x/y coords. in to make a pyramid, but not completely pointed. create a texture that's a white 'X' on top of a red 'X'. outline each 'X' with a box in the same color and leave everything else in the texture fully transparent. paste the texture to each side of your tower and set the repeat values to make it look correct. paste the same texture on the inside and adjust the repeats to match the outsides. add a particle script that produce a red light at the top every 5 seconds or so and you're done.
hmm, the only problem i can think of is if the texture doesn't map properly. but if the tops are axis(plural for axis is what?) are scaled symetrically, i don't think it'd be a problem.

Since I was told in another thread, I thought I should pass it on.. The plural is Axes.
