Hi all,

Im new to SL and well new to modeling, I was wondering if there is any tutorial sites for me to look at? im currently building my first house in Cottonwwood first land 12.

Problems im having:
I want to be able to sell my house once I complete it, but not have it delivered in pieces. This may go hand in hand with the fact that I may not be linking prims correctly. I was told its ctrl+shift+L but im not sure. I would do the classes, but the problem is that im asleep when they all happen :\

How do I make working door.

Also is there a way to have my avatar lay down in bed?

thanks ahead for all the help,
Nathan Klein

Nathan,

If you want a visual course in prim manipulation, check out the Ivory Tower of Prims in Noyo. Excellent stuff and very, very helpful!

As for linking your house... there could be a couple of problems. You may be unable to link it all up, as there is a max. distance allowed between linked prims. You might need to link it in groups. Click on the first prim, then Shift+Click on subsequent prims and then link them up.

For the door, I suggest going to the Stillman Bazaar, there are lots of free doors. If they don't suit your taste you can reverse-engineer it and use the rotation script and sounds to make your own.

Hope that helps.

Linking is control + L, what you are describing is actually the process to unlink prims that are already linked. That could be your problem right there.

As for the door, the Wiki has a great door script in their script library that will take a bare box and turn it into a working door. Check it out at http://www.badgeometry.com/wiki/LibraryDoor
