Ukanipo 250, 100 Area: 4032sqm This plot is probably one of the best plots in game, in my opinion. A large base for your building which is shrowded by beautiful luscious mountains with a Linden protected body of water facing you. This place is perfect for your own private getaway in a mature sim. The asking price is high, 75,000 L$ - which *IS* over normal asking price for most mature plots in game, but if you see this plot you'll understand why. This plots gets you a very generous 922 prims for your building pleasure Reasonable offers are considered, please IM me in game or reply to this post. Thankyou

Yes...it's a very nice plot........and the Linden protected frontage is a bonus! (pray that the adjoining plots on the mountainside behind don't end up with builds on them that spoil the ambience).....however.....
Just a recommendation for anyone, especially newcomers, who are aghast at the land prices, and despair of owning nice plots......and who may well end up thinking to themselves.... "guess I'll just have to bite the bullet", or experienced players who are unsure, or scared of the auction process....
The proxy system allows us to decide exactly how much we are prepared to pay. So if for example, we saw the above plot....at auction...and thought "ok...I'll bid X Lindens"...and that bid was defeated....then stay away. You'd be surprised at just what you CAN get at auction.
Again, using the above land as an example...... it sold at auction for 101 US$....... on Ige, that would get you 22k Linden dollars. So if you'd bid at auction....you could have gotten it (potentially for less). The same 75k Lindens asked for the above, would get you 315 US dollars on IGE at present. Check the auctions again...and see what you could potentially get for those sums.
The point I'm making...... (and no, it's not an attack on people buying and selling land)...... is to use the auctions yourselves....especially now the proxies are in place. It's exciting.....and if you stick to what you've decided is your highest figure, you dont wake up in a sweat thinking "aggghhhhh...I overspent!!!"

Thanks Vixen for actually checking the plot out. From: someone you could still end up with a couple of neon flashing multicolored porn shop for neighbors Not in sight, this plot is protected by hillside, and the only way of seeing in is through PG land, so no pornshops there. However, I have reviewed the price and lowered it to 60,000. and I am still open to reasonable offers.

Hrmmm...
I have what I believe to be within the Top 5 lots in SL with a private cove with linden water....privacy from steep cliffs, roadside access...and facing empty Linden water on sim border (it is PG) in Bodega. I got 7088m2 for a little upwards of 30K. if i had a pic id post it...but I assure you it's far more breathtaking...and also was still not considered robbery in the L$/m2 ratio. i understand quality location's demand a premium...but this is ridiculous.

Congrats! You have great land too! Is it for sale? If not, then I still own the best mature plot for sale From: someone Originally posted by Jay Knox I got 7088m2 for a little upwards of 30K.
Congrats again on a successful bidding Also, you do know PG land is not worth as much as mature land? It may well be, but no need to be rude. I wouldn't have posted this if you had been polite

Why is this thread here?? Did you *not* read the Topic? Its "Building Codes and Architectural Visions"
Granted, LL doesn't have a Classifieds forum yet, but this is certainly not the place.

Im curious, if its the best plot in SL, why in the world are you selling it? I got my piece of land, I doubt I would give it up at any cost. Good land can be hard to come by, dont regret your decision to sell down the line.

Seventy-five thousand Lindens for a measley 4032 sq m???? If this is becoming normal, then there's something very wrong with Second Life. Oh, and Lucas... your post is off-topic. This is a building and architecture forum. ( edit: changed "this game" to "Second Life" to avoid being lynched )

Okay, I'm kind of new, but I feel like I'm missing what's really going on here in this thread.
Is this just haggling? Are we planning on buying this land if we can get Lucas to drop the price?
Are we anxious for him to be successful and just trying to give him sound business advice?
Or maybe we're afraid that if he doesn't drop the price right away that the land is going to move at $18/sqm, and that that will set the standard for the foreseeable future?
(350 new members so far today! -- better get your seat at the parade right now -- and the Linden at $1.13)
On the other hand, if it's just that we think that the price is too high, why not let him sit with the offer for a few weeks and find out for himself?
--Almarea
BTW, I've got almost a quarter of a sim up for under $10/sqm ($7.50 for anyone who wants to buy it all). Not one of the top five plots, but very nice nonetheless. Not a nibble. Where *is* that rampant inflation?

Nice Lucas... live up to that used-car salesman reputation why don't you?
Posting your ad here, in a forum dedicated to building simply because you need land to build is a lame reason.
Lindens, could we please move this thread to the appropriate forum?

I have stellar land...although i buy it to use it. Occasionally I do buy and end up selling...but it's due to me wanting to enjoy my surroundings and I'm picky about neighboring builds. I don't whine to my neighbors if I don't like what they do (SL is a great medium for anyone to create) I quietly sell the land and find something more suited. I didn't bid at auction. I bought it from Schwanson Schlegel...and he's considered a "land barron" and his prices make you look ludicrous in your attempts to scam some new player ( no vet would pay it) for such an overrated price. At least he understands what it's worth and I also think he prices fairly and is generous. I am also well aware of land values...both PG and M (I own both)...ask anyone who's been around long enough to study the economy as well as the supply and demand around here for land. Your pricing has no foundation beyond what you "think" it's worth and you opinion it's the "best". I use indicators in world like amount of players joining, what it costs them to purchase L$, how much privately held land is being sold, what hte average L$/m2 is by sim and overall, as well as what parcels go for at auction. SO Tell me Lucas...how did you arrive at your arbitrary number? Quadruple what you paid? Lastly...show me where there is anything impolite in my initial post. Saying your price is ridiculous or robbery is hardly impolite. I also dont know why you felt like quantifying your reaction when i didn't feel you were impolite in return. My point...your asking too much...you may disagree...but get back to me in a month when you still have the land with a 60,000 price tag on it. Now can i please jsut see the building threads here now

baseless claims
06-26-2004 09:20
Claims of "best lots" in SL are so hard and unreal. Kriss Ritter used to have a wonderful spot in immaculate and the very first expansion after 1.1 ended that for her. A spot is a spot is a a spot. Subjective appreciation is what makes it "THE Spot". So if you think you have "The Spot", sell it for what you think it is worth and if someone thinks as highly as you do about the location Im sure it will sell if the price is reasonable Good Luck Lucas Briana Dawson
