Land question.....

Hi Everyone.... I am a little bit worried.... I have land already and have built a huge art gallery, it is on Openspace... so unfortunately can ONLY have 20 people at any one time.

I have looked arouind for some land that has more people allocation and found some.... it is empty of anything, (that is another issue), it is a full SIm 65,536 sqm (hope I got that right) BUT I have been told it is a very low price for sale and a VERY low cost per month in tier costs (20,000L) per calender month because there is only 3750 Prims allowed for building..... now... I am NOT bothered with the low Prim count BUT is it likely that it is NOT an openspace prim, soon to be a homestead, rather than a full Private Region just with low PRIMS.

My needs are more than 20 people at any one time.... I would like atleast 100 at any one time.... and I am told that: I can invite as many people as I like as it is a Server Class 5 low lag server.

So I get only 3750 prims
can have easily 100 people at any one time.
65,536 (?) sqm (full SIM)
15,000L initial fee
20,000L per month (calender)

Does this sound likely..... Private region land reduced becuase LESS PRIMS..... obviously UNCREDIBLY reduced.... (from 15,000prims to 3750)

Can anyone shine a light on this please... I would like to purchase it today.... but need re-0assurance I am not being ripped off!!!!

That's an Open Space sim. You are being lied to.

3750 prims means it is an Openspace, or a Homestead from when the new pricing takes effect.

Good on you for posting and getting some information. It makes so mad when i hear about these things. Please be careful with your purchase.

Well .... idiot me.... in my desperation to get things moving... as we do!!!!! I accepted the offer and bought the land.... GUESS WHAT?????? It IS openspace... the landowner admitted it AFTER I purchased it... and the other person involved just kept telling me what I wanted to hear.

WELL...... I was not completely an idiot!!!! I recorded all conversations I had with bothn of these fraudsters, I have copied the conversations from both LOCAL and IM and have printed them out too.... and have highlighted where they LIED... and where I asked outright the questions... and now have sent everything to Linden Labs... for analysis!!!!

I have told them I want my money back and now!! And have reported them to Linden Labs for Fraud. The Linden rep on th chat line was very sympathetic and asked me to file an abuse online AND with the support people too. These buggers are going to cop it... and though I have very likely lost my money.... $15000L (US$57 ish) not allot I know....BUT it is a lot to lose all the time!!! AND.. I could do allot with that money on SL!!!

BUT.. it is the audacity that they have..... outright telling me what ever I wanted to hear.... they also offered one free calender month and when I had accepted by buying they told me they could only muster 20m days.... work it out guys.... its about the time left until 5th January..... what would they care!!!

ALSO.... I noticed there are 56 people been BANNED from the island,.... this is highly unlikely because of problems... I would BET its people they have tried to sell it too.... nice little game eh??

Are you paying tier to Linden Lab, or to this other person? If you're paying to this other person, you can simply abandon the land and move on after a month. (Might as well get your month's worth.) If you're paying tier directly to LL, then yes, this is an issue that LL will have to handle.

I don't mean to be cold, but you did the right thing by asking first. Your answer showed up 45 min later. But you already committed to this foul deal in the short span of time....

People, when you have decisions this big to make, SLOW DOWN. There is no land deal that is so good that you have to get it NOW NOW NOW that others can't replicate. Especially if it sounds too good to be true.

OP the issues are that at the time of asking the openspace would have supported more than 20 people, that was part of the damn problem with openspaces, avatar limits were the same as they were for full sims.

How much were you paying in tier for your current openspace?

Did he tell you that 20,000 would triple in july,sounds like he was low balling to get you to rent it,well maybe not triple but close to it

As a reference, the land menu of a "full" sim, will always show a total of 15,000 available prim for 65,536sqm. The only times it'll be less is if it's a smaller parcel (eg 114 out of 15000 for a 512sqm) or an open space sim.
Although the vast majority of land sellers/renters are honest folk, unfortunately some aren't.
