Making Plants And Trees

I kinda hate to ask this here, as there is probably some place that answers this question but I have yet to find it.

I want to plant some plants around my home, so I click on the tree icon in the edit/create menu, then click on a plot of land, and a plant or tree appears.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find either a list of all the plants available, nor how to select a particular plant. Each time I click create it seems to create a random plant. Well, I don't want a random plant, I want a specific plant!

Anyone know how to control this feature?

Max I have never figured out a way to control the feature, but what I did do was generate all the trees and plants that I could until every one was repeated (that way you can be reasonably sure you have them all) and then rename them, For example Linden Date Palm, Linden Desert Palm, etc.

Then I take a copy of each that I re-named and put them into a folder called Linden trees.

It's not the most elegant solution, but it does allow you to select the ones that you want specifically.

I've been here more than a year, but figured this out only a few weeks ago.
At the very top of your inventory there should be a folder (called library, I believe), which should have trees (and other objects) listed by name in a subfolder.
SL textures live there too- and for all this time I'd been recreating them by uploading snapshots of the ground, making them seamless in photoshop, and downloading them back in for 10 L each.

Ouch, The library was one of the first things i noticed when i opend up my inventory.
Had hours of fun just with that.

If it makes you feel better Olympia, ALL those textures haven't all been there until the last few upgrades. We seem to have most of them now...wonder if we will get the newest from the Northern Continent with the release of 1.6?
