I've made a light cycle in SL (see link below), but I don't want to spend the time learning how to turn it into a vehicle. I'll give the light cycle to an experienced SL vehicle maker if he or she will vehicularize it and give me the driveable version. If you want to see it in person, it's currently sitting at Tan (104, 104). I imagine it will need work, as there's no seat and the canopy doesn't open, but I figured I'd wait to talk to someone experienced with vehicles before messing with that stuff.

Is it supposed to leave a "wall" like in Tron?

That would be a neat feature, Garoad, but not necessary. I'd be happy if it just drive like a normal bike, whatever that means in SL

It could easily leave a trail of particles in a relatively wall-like setup. Nifty.

Ack! You beat me to it!
I've just started, but have been playing with bike scripting and have an 80% workable 'cycle. Your geometry's better than mine ![]() However one thing I do have which you may be interested in is a mostly-working trail and colour script. Rezzes a lightwall (no particle effects as yet) behind the bike, and allows colour change of the wall an the bike to the colours used in the film and game. Hopefully I'll be able to get in contact in-world to have a warble about things. |

I wondered, Hawk, if I could possibly be the first person to make a light cycle.

The light-wall for this one at least is more cosmetic than anything, and still a bit buggy - I'd decided that if I was going to make the actual game I'd have a competition-class cycle as well, right-angle turns and all.
As for making the grid, you could just do it the official Tron way - rez it in automatically, then de-rezz when you're done. ![]() Should be possible, but I'll be the first to admit I'm not up to _that_ yet... If it's okay with you, I'll try and finalise my version first so you can see what you think of the behaviour. |

Hawk - Cool, get in touch with me whenever. The light cycles are just just something I'm playing around with. I like your idea of scripting the color, so I'm going to steal it
![]() Thanks, Eddie. _____________________
