Physics Enabled Objects Question

If you place a Physics enabled object on say the top floor of an apartment, does it always fall through the floor? And is there someway around this so that dice can be placed on the floor without having to worry about them falling through? Right now, if I place it on a sofa or something, it is fine, but when I place it on floors, it seems to fall right through. Any Help or Enlightenment on this would be helpful and much appreciated!

Ah, this happens to me too with my watermelons. What I end up having to do, sometimes, is adjust the object quickly after rezzing it, and in Edit mode, arrowing it up a bit so that it ends up falling on the floor and not through it. So try that, and see if it works for you. Sofas should normally not be Physics-enabled unless you have a desired reason for doing so (i.e. a game of "kick the couch";). :)

Take care, Adorna.

If your floor was thicker they wouldn't fall through *as much* but any time a sim gets lagged severly enough the physics engine will still apply gravity but may miss the collision bewteen the object and the non-physical floor. (or even a physcial floor... that doesn't matter)

With a thicker floor (or couch) it has more time to catch the collision.

Either that or only play dice on the ground floor where they actually end up hitting the ground under the floor if they fall through.

Thank you for the help all. What I meant with the sofa, is if I rez the physics enabled on the sofa, it doesn't fall through. Though a physics enabled sofa, might be fun, at least for a little while.
