A while back I noticed that parts of the 'Yamato' town in Dore had gone public. With limited cash at the time I secure one piece of land and informed the Lindens. The Governor sent in his troops to save the town from plunderers and langoliers. Once that step was taken, I started reconstructing what was already been lost. Since my knowledge of Asian cultures is extremely limited, all I could do is add missing pieces of the road. What you can do to help: - Stop the langoliers! - Adopt a piece of road (buy for costprice) - and please leave it where it is - For those with a better knowledge of the culture, how about adding pieces of furniture? Probably have to check with a representative of the Governor to see what is and what is not allowed... Is any of the original builders of the town still around?

Thanks to Shijuro Romulus for adopting part of the town roads. I used the money freed up as a result to continue recontruction of missing roads. If you see an object in town that is set "For Sale", it means you adopt the original at rez cost price. And you'd pay your weekly taxes over it, of course. I also bought 2 sliding doors to replace the non-functional doors in one of the houses. As a result, you can now get into this house and admire the furniture and weaponry. Meanwhile, none of the original creators have reported themselves , so I'll happily continue with the reconstruction and hope I get things right.

Harald, I would love to help maintain Yamato town as well. It is a shame it is always so empty and static. I will look you up in world to see what I can do. I wonder if theme Art Deco would now be abandoned as is Yamato. Goes to show, we don't always make the correct decisions......

Development yes, littering no

David, thanks! Tracey, there seems to be a small, yet growing interest in the revival of Shangri La. Kenny Metalhead contacted me earlier this week (while I was out, unfortunately) and I have responded by email. There are a few braincells at work to come up with a plan, possibly including hiring a janitor to clean up after newbies. What else do we pay 260% taxes for?

Ha, the officers of Shangri-La are coming out of the woodwork, now. last night we were hanging about the welcome center when some fellow in an embroidered gown shows up. Someone asked him where he got the cool outfit and he responded that he was an officer of Shangri-La, but hadn't bothered to log in lately. I filled him in on the recent history - which he said he was not aware of - and asked him to contact you, Harald, at his earliest convenience. Wonderful!

The Japanese village in Dore is one of my favorite places, and I'd love to see it active again!
As much of it is Linden-owned right now, could we have daily patrols to delete litter? Or are there already, and it's just piling up that fast?

Littering
08-02-2003 17:16
I guess newbies litter faster than we can expect any Linden to clean up... Joan took the downtime to make a "no littering" sign, that we hang near the entrances. Then we see if that stop the littering, or increases it
