This may seem quite odd or it may be common but here goes. Hopefully someone can enlighten me: I'm building a large house on a 5000+ sm lot in Champlain. I have roughly 1200 prims available and have used close to 1000. The last item on my list is to put a roof on the house. I place two 10X10 pieces and angle them at about 45 deg. I show it my gf to get her opinion and we decide to angle them to 70 deg. I angle both pieces (linked) to 70 deg and everything comes to an absolute crawl. Rezzing takes forever, I can barely move. And my PC performance is normally very good. So, I log and come back in and bam! Same thing. Absolutely crawling. I start thinking and realize that the problem happened when I changed the angle of the roof pieces. So, I take the roof pieces out and guess what, lag clears? Put it back in again, lag comes back. Someone please explain why the server, my PC, my video card, or whatever could possibly care if a roof is angled at 70 deg vs. 45 or any other angle. And no, I was not drinking or under any meds last night. Thanks.

Speaking as someone who "kinda" understands how these things work, your house roof angle should have no impact on performance. I would rez this roof of yours again and inspect if anything has been done with it, or if any locals started running some intense scripts lately. If, however, your roof continues to do this after several tests, bug report it. If an automated script to "close" a cylinder can crash me to desktop, it's possible certain angles can have math issues.

I can't tell whether you tried this or not from your post, but I would first try rebuilding the roof prims from scratch instead of rerezzing the ones you already made. It's probably more likely that something got munged up in those particular prims somehow than that the angle itself is broken.

Thanks for the suggestions. There were no scripts in the original roof pieces but I am going to start again from scratch.
