Oops. I don't really live in the Galapagos, and Devlin (to the best of my knowledge) doesn't live in Tibet. I guess I should clear my pins. Sorry about the joke, Fleabite.
The map is really cool, I didn't realize that it was "active"; thanks for making it.

I saw that map once but I didn't drop a marker because someone was in the EXACT spot mine would go at, I think it was Bonecrusher Slate. Hope I never meet HIM IRL! ("Bonecrusher" I'll consider when there's a bigger NJ area. Did you know NJ is the most populated AND wealthiest state in the US? Nope! And why didn't you know this? --Because it's impossible to see with the high density of pollution, and epic numbers of corrupt, liar politicans here.

Awesome -- I'll have to drop by again, I remember the first map you set up way back when.

Not everyone knows how to script.

Maybe Conn has the most $ total or something, because according to the last source I saw (2000 census I believe) NJ had the highest -average- yearly income...er something. And gaH Eggy that reminds me of Prolog almost. !@#$ Prolog!

Prolog sucks! It's an unbeliavably stupid idea in the first place. I hate all manners of non-procedural programming.

Flea, this map is extremely nifty. And so is the fact that we privileged and special residents of WA State have our own little state map.

Unless Flea changed it, the pins were the very first thing I ever scripted in game. Took me about ten minutes to look everything up and figure out how to get the thing to run right. *sniffs proudly* Almost that exact string of function calls was my "Hello World". I don't think I used variables for the color or alpha though

Of course some of us changed the pins when we put them up there. If you look at my pin, for example, my name is flashing. My pin is around the Great Lakes area BTW, Border of Southern Ontario and Michigan.

What happens to all this in 1.2?

I'd assume things like this will not be covered in 1.2, because unless people buy a square of land in Taber to support their pin, all of their pins will become 'temporary objects' and decay just like public once they leave the area. -Bone

Whoever owns the land that the map and pin prims are on will have the option of returning them to the owners. once the prim limit for that piece of property is reached, they will start returning on their own to the owner's inventory.Maybe the Governor would be willing to sponsor a map on a Linden owned sim - or - perhaps the residents of a sim might like to do one for themselves on group owned land. WORLD MAP IS BUGGED
12-29-2003 13:59
Just before 1.2 hit, 40+ pins disappeared from the map. No rhyme or reason to it...the UK pins, for example are still there. There were enough prims on my land to handle the existing load and then some. The land was not public.
I am sorry for all those who took the time to make a pin and place it on the increasingly crowded map, only to randomly lose their mark.
I am also sorry to have neglected to mention that Ailuro Tigereye scripted the self-naming pins for the map. Perhaps not a script worthy of an Egghead's critical eye, but far-surpassing my own ability and MOST appreciated by me and the numerous contributors to the project....THANK YOU AILURO!
A new means of marking one's position on the map is being considered....one that will not eventually consume the entire neighborhood's prims and will be (nigh) Bug-Proof.
The map willl be back, please bear with us while we experience technical difficulties.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!
