Hello SL Folk,

Two part inquiry:

1) I may be asking a repeat question for #2... if so, only because I am unaware of an archive/search option within these forums... is there such an option?

2) When creating transparent surfaces/objects (e.g. for 'Asterisk intersection' plants, how does one avoid lines/outlines/border ghosts??

Much Obliged,
EO

1) yes, but it's ridiculously hard to find. Under Forum Jump dropdown at the bottom of the page. I'm not being sarcastic. It really SHOULD be easier.

2) Very CAREFULLY.

Mac,

I appreciate the drop-down tip. However, if ANYONE can shed some light on the following...

2) When creating transparent surfaces/objects (e.g. for 'Asterisk intersection' plants, how does one avoid lines/outlines/border ghosts??

Thanks much,
EO

1) Go to the forum in question. Scroll to the bottom of the page. Type in box on the right.

2) Use Select Texture to apply a perfectly transparent texture to parts of prims that border others. (i.e., if you have two cubes put together, make the two faces that are touching invisible).

With an "asterisk intersection" style plant, remember that each prim is still a block with six faces. The plant texture is visible on the two biggest faces, but there are still four very skinny faces to deal with; if the plant texture is displayed on those, you'll see the edges of your prim.

The "Select Texture" on the editing tool lets you apply a different texture to each face of a prim. Choose those skinny faces and apply a 100% transparent texture to them. That will help.
