I've always wanted to know: why is it, that when you go to build a flexible object, that the opposite side of the object becomes flexi, and not the side that you wanted it on? Why does it do that?

The opposite side? By definition, the "fixed" end of a flexi prim (the end that you have to link to) is always its -Z end. Think of a flexi prim like a blade of grass, attached to the ground and waving in the wind. If you want it to attach and wave in a different direction, you have to pick it up and turn it.

Thanks for your response! It just seemed like when I would make the object, and then fix the end I wanted to, and THEN made it flexi, it would just be the opposite end that i wanted, that was flexi.
Should I make something flexi, BEFORE I do anything to it? |

Nope. The order in which you do things doesn't make any difference, just the prim orientation. So long as you remember which end of the prim is -Z, you'll never be surprised. Frankly, though, it's a lot easier to work on a prim that ISN'T flexi, so I prefer to create a prim, flip it upside down (-Z end up), shape and texture it, and THEN make it flexi. If you think you are likely to forget which end is up, though, you can always turn the flexi feature on and off at any time to remind yourself.
