Why hasn't this been done yet?  Obviously, we have a tight-knit community. Obviously, we have people milling about that we consider to be "the best" at what they do. Best at building, best at scripting, best at socializing, and so forth. So, why hasn't anyone gotten together and organized a awards banquet/show/event for this purpose? We could make it very "Emmy"-like... We could give out gold statues of Hippoes to winners. The winners would be nominated and voted for by the people of SL. We could set up an event where we do awards speeches and all that stuff  Good idea? bad idea? Shoudl I start drtumming up award categories? LF

Way back in the day when I was young and foolish I handed out Eggy awards to several people, though I never made a fancy ceremony out of it.
I was actually planning to, but somehow I got sidetracked and forgot all about it.

Sounds like a great idea, LD! Perhaps Philip Linden would be up for handing out the awards at the ceremony? This is gonna be a sim-crasher event if ever there was one lol!
