Commission fee rates?

So, I was wondering if there was a consensus out there about the going rate for commission builds, say, an acceptable range of fees for residential vs. commercial or specialty builds? I realize there'd be much variation due to skill/experience/actual task at hand, but just looking to see if there's any standard of agreement in the community as to what consitutes "fair" pricing. Thoughts?
