Just a quick question. I know we are able to use photoshop to make clothing but my question is can we use autocad to create a house and then import it into the program. Will it allow us to do this?

Sorry, no. There is no way to import 3D models from Autocad or any other modeling program into SL. All building has to be done using in-game tools.

That is not to say that test building in autocad does not have any value. I guess there are people that are good enough to wack stuff out by just editing prims. But I find that if I plan out in a tool I am familiar with (autocad, inventor, whatever), my build process is quicker and less frustrating.

Precision input is your friend.

I wish they did implement a way to import houses, clothing and other things into SL from AutoCAD, Maya, 3DSmax, ect... That would make the game a lot more diverse.

But yea it is good to plan out before you do. I usually plan out on plain paper before I create something in SL.
