I've often noticed that many builders use a spiral, or helical ramp for a staircase, probably because it only requires a few -prims.
For the life of me, I can't seem to make one of these ramps. Does anyone know the secret?
P.S. If you take a sphere and dimple it at both ends then turn it into a tube, you have a nice one prim table. There are other things you can do by changing prim types in the middle of an edit that you can't do otherwise. If these are documented somewhere, I'd love to know where.

when I made ramps I used cubes, twisted them and then cut them to the shape I wanted. The new 1.5 version of SL looks like it will have great spiral things.  |
