Um, I think I did something really stupid. I was building a new house and got kinda stuck, so I thought I would link it into one big linkset and pick it up and put it in my inventory. Now I can't seem to rez it. it is there in my inventory but it is about 250prims and just won't rez. Is it some SL thing that will miraculously go away or am I doomed

Make sure there are enough free prims on your land to accomodate the build, or try using a sandbox. You might be trying to rez it so that it's not all on your land - which I think might cause a prob if the neighbouring land is no build/no entry, etc.

Could this be a case of having a linden tree in the object causing the rez to fail?

I thought of that and checked to see if I had enough prims and it seems like I do but maybe going to a sandbox is a good idea. I'll try that cause it might have something to do with my prim count, i really don't know. What's a Linden tree?

Just to make sure - is it a linkset or just unlinked prims taken in one lump?
If unlinked and includes a tree or plant from the library like the eucalyptus tree for instance, you will only be able to rez it on ground where you can plant, which is what Suez was talking about..

most of it is a linkset but then I picked up a few stray prims before I took it back up into my inventory. I think there is something in there that is not allowing me to rez it. I created all of the objects myself and there are only flowers that I created. No linden trees.

All right, so it isn't a linkset. It does SOUND awfully like a tree/plant/bush/grass/fern/whatever could be caught in there, but if so you'd get a "You are not allowed to plant here" type notice. Any error notices at all?

nope, nothing at all, and I'm starting to feel a little depressed because there goes three weeks worth of work down the drain. Maybe I should just forget about it and move on.

Is it all copy/transfer? Could you try passing it to someone else if it is and see what happens?

Well hang onto it - try it every now and then at different times/places. It may have a simple solution.

Considering the grid is having major issues today, I don't think you need to worry about it.
If you try it again tomorrow (or later, depending how broken things are), it'll probably rez just fine.
