Hey all,

Was wondering if someone could guide me in the proper direction. I am building a castle and in great need of learning how to combine textures in adobe PS or Gimp..I have both...semi-novice at both progs really... I want to be able to combine two textures and also make windows...After an exhaustive google search I've decided that it doesn't exist (a good tutorial for walls and windows regarding textures) or I am googling the wrong keywords...

Anyone who can point me in right direction, I appreciate it...

Cheers

I don't have a handy list of tutorials at the tips of my fingers. Instead, I suggest that you take a half hour to read the sticky on transparency at the top of the Texture Tips forum and then search the archives of that forum to see some of the advice left for other people with window questions. Take a look at these ones, for example .....

It's not the same as a tutorial, but these posts ought to give you a decent idea of how to start.

Don't forget that the "Help" menu has help in it. PS has tons and so does Gimp.
Find some simple tutorials that cover "Layers", "Alpha Transparency or Layers" and "Blend Layers". These cover a lot of ground and are the basics of any image creation.
