How much does dwell bring in?

Hey,

I've just signed up for a subscription to SL and am looking to start building. I was just curious, how many L$ can the dwell bring in? If I have an event where 10 people show up for an hour or two, will I notice a large amount of money next stipend, or will I only notice dwell if my land stays occupied for a long period of time?

It is paid pretty much daily and 10 AVs for an hour might get you a few L$, maybe L$10 to $12?

Is it even possible, then, to get enough dwell to pay the bills for the land?

no way! it does not pay very well...u can try to get a piece of the developer incentive..that might do it. good luck vautrin.

Especially because the world is getting so large and the original dwell money "bucket" has not increased, the money is spreading thinner and thinner. The amount Dwell hands out each night might be better if it was increased a bit..

Dwell is being increased, as is the Developer awards. (The dev awards are up to a pool of $1250 now, I think.)

And you have to REALLY work to get dwell high enough to pay for a tier. I covered mine this time around, but wouldn't have covered the next tier up. I was listed as #8 in dwell for last month, according to the dev awards list, and knowing what I got, I can only guess that the payout chart looks logarithmic...

But there are times when I get very little dwell payback. It's quite fickle, and not something to count on. Don't depend on it to pay your way, for sure.
