Hi, all;

I just have created a maintenance release RC4 of Dominos scripts.

You can download it at:

http://www.machinimatrix.org/svn/sl/distrib/blender_scripts_rc_4.zip

The new features are:

#- Added a correction for "lemon shaped spheres" with multires/subsurf
#- Added a release marker on the sculpt mesh options for clearity
#- Added some comments within the scripts for better understanding

Here is the effect of the spherical distortion correction.

I am not 100% satisfied, but it is at least a better sphere. If you need a perfect sphere, you still can disable multires, create a 32*32 faces sculptie, bake it, export it and reimport the sculptie map to blender. It will be automatically turned into a perfect multires sculptie.
Or just use the release version of the scripts. There the multires support has been implemented in a different way...

Thank you Gaia.

How is Domino, btw? Is he recovered yet and just busy or still recuperating?

One thing I would like to add to the wish list, when someone has time: Domino added a protect sculpt-map function that apparently puts a picture of the model on the alpha layer of the sculpt map, it would be great to be able to select the image that is used for that rather than just select either a transparent alpha or the image of the model. I have an image with a copyright notice and trademark that I use on all my sculpt maps so this feature (although great) is not useful to me. At present I have to load the sculpt map into gimp and apply it there.

Thanks again for your work in extending Domino's excellent scripts.

I have no information about Domino. I think, he still recuperates and as long as we do not hear anything different from him, i will continue maintaining his work and i hope that others can also jump in...

cheers, Gaia
